A visitor centre, footpaths, cycle routes, bridleways, a wetland, bird hides. These are just some of the benefits Havant Thicket Reservoir will bring to your community.

And we’ll make sure these go ahead, whether or not the proposals for a water recycling scheme involving the reservoir, known as the Hampshire Water Transfer & Water Recycling Project, are taken forward.

We’re still carrying out detailed investigations, but initial studies suggest the recycled water that could be added to the reservoir would actually be cleaner than the spring water in it.

Further studies and investigations are taking place, including a full Environmental Impact Assessment and Habitat Regulations Assessment, to ensure these initial studies are correct. And as the company controlling and operating the reservoir, we’ve appointed advisors to deliver the water quality modelling ourselves. We’ll be sharing the results of these assessments with our customers, once they become available. We will not allow there to be any detrimental impact on our reservoir environment.
